Carpe Diem Is My Instinct!

This world is very amazing, amusing, and funny.

HOW?

LO!

I saw a WhatsApp status of one of my colleagues last week: "A crowded street in Haridwar was stuck tight as if the slow moving crowd was under the spell of a magician. The scene seemed to be very traumatic and choking."

This is a just an example. People are enjoying bonanza of the holidays.

Now I come to the conclusion that people are used to enjoying things immediately.

CARPE DIEM…

This term was being criticized in different circles in various eras to stop the uncontrolled greedy behavior of human beings.

Nowadays people have a seize-the-day mentality.

Almost all corners of the present tourist spots are being crowded to have a momentary pleasure.

Multiple national and domestic companies are preparing very attractive packages to invite the gullible and enjoy-thirsty people in almost all seasons of the year.

By the way, we beat China last month in the most populated country segment!

We bagged  the 1st place.

We feel proud at this juncture.

Isn't it a great feat to remain a poor, downtrodden, developing, and most populous country of the world?

Winner of the century we are today!

We don't care.

Having entertainment isn't a crime. But a poor and hollow decision to choke an already crowded place is a foolish idea.

Roads, restaurants, working places, hospitals, parks, and many more public and private spaces are being thronged with human footprints with an impending disaster.

But we are the quick-enjoy generation.

We must not give any priority to Mother Earth. We are born to take everything at our disposal. Why shouldn't we?

The Human Rights Charter in the UNO says so.

But people don't have any idea for how many years we can sustain on this planet.

I frequently criticize the present way of production and consumption on this tiny planet which is supporting 8.5 billion human beings and trillions of other species.

I don't raise my finger at a particular place. But I see pictures of international airports, city trains, buses, and other places. I feel defeated.

SDGs won't be achieved at all.

All international institutions feel clogged and underfunded taking into account all such enormous and intractable things.

Intellectual fraternity is crying hoarse and data scientists are puzzled at the current rate of human progress. Here I mean regress.

Development at the cost of depleting Nature invites another disaster at our threshold. Isn't it a suicidal age?

"Nonetheless we will come out of any abyss unharmed and doubly courageous!"
